Sandals Royal Curaçao Resort

Willemstad, Curaçao

The one that reinvented the Sandals brand.

Are you ready for a new kind of Sandals? Sandals Royal Curaçao is here, launching in 2022 as part of the innovative “Sandals 2.0” collection. This is the natural evolution of Sandals, the sequel to Sandals, the Empire Strikes Back of Sandals. Sandals 2.0 is all about unique amenities you haven’t seen anywhere else, new restaurants and design ideas that showed up at some of the most recent resorts, like Sandals Dunn’s River. This is the one that started it all. Or, better, the one that re-started it all.

Sandals Curaçao has a lot of new tricks up its sleeve, like a two tier infinity pool with transparent walls that seamlessly blend with the beach and ocean, creating a visual masterpiece unlike anything else in the Sandals portfolio. While this pool can definitely get crowded during peak hours, it represents the kind of cool new things that we should expect from Sandals 2.0.

Dining options are also another highlight. Though offering just eight restaurants, quality trumps quantity with standout venues including Latin restaurant Zuka, sushi bar Gatsu Gatsu and Butch's Island Chop House. Food is usually considered quite good. Wait, it’s better than that. Guests online often say that this is one of the best Sandals ever when it comes to food, and the quality is certainly better when compared to other resorts. There are even food trucks scattered around the resort if you want a quick bite.

Two beaches are available to you, but they’re definitely not the best thing about the resort. The main southern beach is a bit rocky and not that great for swimming, while the western beach faces a canal with a limited swimming area due to a pier that crosses in front of it. That’s fine, since there is a lot to see and do here, and the swimming pools alone deserve a lot of your time.

You can also find several new room options at Curaçao, including Butler Suites with private terraces and pools, and some suites that even give you access to a Mini Cooper that lets you explore the island. Rooms are modern, new and luxurious, and great for a honeymoon. The entire resort, in fact, is gorgeous, with lots of trees and flowers. The layout also feels a bit more compact and easier to walk around and get to where you need to go, another feature that is usually seen in Sandals 2.0.

Curaçao is a beautiful island that is getting more and more popular lately. Cruises are starting to include it in their itineraries, since this is a Caribbean itinerary with gorgeous beaches that didn’t get a ton of love until a few years ago. Curaçao itself is a 3 hour flight from Miami and it should take you about 45 minutes from the airport to get to your resort. Once you get there, it’s time to relax and enjoy the romantic atmosphere.

Sandals Royal Curaçao is great and highly recommended. It’s a new resort, has a lot of new and modern touches and it’s located on one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. The pools are gorgeous and you will fall in love with the gardens as well. If you want to check the best of the best that Sandals has to offer, then have fun with our guides, start packing and get ready for an amazing time in the Southern Caribbean.
