Google “William Tell Overture” and then read this review
Done? Great! Who would have thought that a Disneyland attraction would feature such an iconic song? I always thought it was a tune reserved for Tom and Jerry or Bugs Bunny. Well, Silly Symphony Swings is a spinning ride, or aerial carousel, that offers just a little more excitement than typical rides like The Magic Carpets of Aladdin or Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
The concept is straightforward: you sit on a chair, then soar 40 feet above the ground, spinning for about 90 seconds. I really enjoy this ride. It feels like a classic carnival attraction, blending fun, humor, and just a touch of thrill. If you’re a fan of spinning rides, you’ll definitely enjoy Silly Symphony Swings. I’d say it’s a step above other aerial carousels simply because you're soaring through the air on a common chair.
What we like about Silly Symphony Swings

This ride is all about pure fun. What I love most is that it’s not overly complex, taking you back to a time when theme parks were simpler. You just sit on a chair, buckle up, and then spin around while everyone lets out their loudest screams. It gives you a real sense of freedom, with your legs swinging in the air, the wind in your face, and no bulky vehicle holding you back as you spin. Sure, Silly Symphony Swings doesn’t go fast enough to make you dizzy, but it still spins faster than your typical aerial carousel.
The soundtrack also adds to the fun, making it feel like you’re part of an old cartoon doing something wild... which, let’s be honest, you kind of are. You’re sitting in a basic chair, spinning around, right?
For those with a fear of heights, this ride might even feel a little intimidating. It’s amazing how a simple change in ride vehicles can have such an impact. Being seated in just a chair makes everything feel more intense, giving the illusion of speed and making the ground seem a bit farther away.

Another good thing about it? This is a fun ride with minimal wait times. We are talking about 5 to 10 minutes. I’d almost always choose this one over something like Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, which is located close by.
This ride might not be for everyone. If you have a fear of heights, you may want to pass on it. While it doesn’t go too high, the single chair design can make it feel more intimidating than it really is. It’s also not ideal for those prone to motion sickness, as it spins around multiple times during the ride. You also need to be at least 48" to ride in a single swing, or 40" to ride in tandem swings.
