To All Who Read This Happy Page, Welcome!
What is there to say about Disneyland that you haven’t heard already?
Well, you could very well skip this page and just contact us to book your next trip. There, we saved you a few minutes. Wait, you want to hear the story about how Famvia became big fans of Mickey, It’s a Small World, Splash Mountain and pixie dusting? Well, my friend, pull out a chair and join us with some Main Street popcorn for some story time.
Disneyland means magic. It’s an original vision from more than seven decades ago that changed the whole industry. Maybe it even changed the world? Theme parks were inspired by it, cartoons were inspired by it, videogames were inspired by it, and our lives were definitely inspired by it. This is a resort that goes well beyond rides and stage shows. It’s about connecting with friends, taking pictures, and, thirty years later, looking back at the memories and remembering exactly when and where each one was created.
Disneyland is located in Anaheim, California, and features two theme parks, several hotels and a downtown district filled with stores and restaurants. Disneyland is much more compact than Disney World in Florida, making it easy to navigate since both parks sit right next to each other. Think Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios in Florida, if you’ve ever been there. It’s also not that far away from Universal Hollywood, so you should definitely go there as well if you’re planning to visit Disneyland.
The two theme parks are Disneyland Park (opened 1955) and Disney California Adventure (opened 2001). Disneyland Park has 34 rides total, 25 of them without a height requirement, making it perfect for families with young children. You'll find classic lands like Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge here. It’s the original park envisioned by Walt Disney, the second most popular theme park in the world and a hallmark in… human history?
Disney California Adventure has 19 rides and 9 of them don’t have any sort of height requirement. DCA features Pixar Pier, Cars Land and Avengers Campus, plus more rides aimed at adults and seasonal festivals like the Food & Wine Festival. Disney California Adventure is often seen as the most “adult” part of Disneyland but the truth is, you should definitely visit both parks with your family (and have a lot of free space on your phone for pictures).
Disneyland also has three main resort options: Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place. These resorts cost anywhere between $300 and $900 per night and offer one complimentary Lightning Lane Multi-Pass per person per night. That doesn’t seem like much, but just a peek at our guides shows that thirty minutes can be the difference between a 10-minute Space Mountain queue and a 70-minute wait.
Our guides and reviews were written by Disney fans for Disney fans, present or future. We had a lot of fun creating several different articles that focus on park strategies, planning guides, resort comparison and much more. You will also find several ride reviews where we talk about some of the most popular Disneyland rides ever.
We hope you have a magical time with us.
