Princess Cruise Line

Elegant, fancy and, above all, very romantic.

Princess is all about letting you relax in a setting that feels like a romantic pub or a beautiful garden in France. This cruise line is perfect for mature travelers, particularly those 50 and above, who want to relax and enjoy a simpler time of cruising. Princess doesn’t have waterparks, waterslides, huge Broadway shows or thousands of kids running around. What it does have is a very romantic atmosphere, making it one of the best cruise lines for weddings, anniversaries and special celebrations.

Princess embraces a traditional, old-school cruising philosophy. You won’t find the crazy entertainment options typical of Royal Caribbean or Norwegian Cruise Line, like bumper cars, massive waterparks or big Broadway productions. Instead, Princess focuses on peaceful open spaces, elegant lounges, live shows and the simple pleasures of life, like listening to the waves or soaking up the sun by the pool. With few children onboard, it’s a great choice for anyone looking to recharge, relax and enjoy the moment.

The fleet includes many modern ships, with the Sun Princess debuting in 2024 as the line’s flagship. Surprisingly, Princess is actually one of the largest cruise lines in the world, with over twenty ships. They sail to Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and nearly anywhere you can imagine. You can choose between a romantic dinner in the Greek Isles or renewing your vows on a Caribbean island… or both. The choice is yours.

Princess also offers the Medallion, a small device that functions as your room key, lets you order drinks and food and even acts like a GPS onboard. The Medallion works wonderfully, especially on newer ships, so you don’t even have to leave your lounge by the pool to get a bottle of champagne. Just tap the Medallion, wait a few minutes, and celebrate.

Princess offers two upgrade packages at the time of booking. Princess Plus includes Wi-Fi, gratuities, beverages up to $15 each and a few extra perks. Princess Premier expands these benefits with Wi-Fi for up to four devices, drinks up to $20 and unlimited casual dining. These packages can be a little confusing at first, which is where our guides come in handy.

Princess Cruise Line is a great option for older guests who don’t want to pay thousands for an ultra-luxury cruise but still want a peaceful, refined experience onboard with their significant other. It’s ideal for honeymooners or even couples planning a wedding in the Caribbean. Need more help? Just shake the Medallion and we will pop up to assist you with anything you need.
